New Student Checklist
We’re thrilled to welcome you to East Stroudsburg University! Your journey as a Warrior begins now, and we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Below, you’ll find important instructions and next steps to complete after you’ve paid your enrollment fee.
Each item on the list includes key dates and details. Be sure to review them carefully so you don’t miss anything important.
- Activate Warriors Connect Portal and ESU Email
-
You will receive instructions in your personal email on how to access your ESU student email account after your deposit is received.
Your ESU email address will follow the format: userID@live.esu.edu.
All official communications from university offices will be sent to your ESU student email, so it’s important to check it regularly. For easy access, we recommend downloading the Microsoft Outlook app on your mobile device.
- Register for New Student Orientation
-
Don’t forget to register for a New Student Orientation session!
Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students, and you must attend one full session to complete your enrollment process.
- Receive eCard (Student ID)
-
About two weeks before your scheduled Orientation, you’ll receive an email at your ESU student email address with instructions and a link to upload your photo for your eCard.
Your student ID card will be printed and ready for you to pick up on your Orientation day—so don’t forget to submit your photo on time!
- Complete Immunization Records
-
Student health records are managed through the LVH-Pocono Medicat Portal.
New students can either upload their health information online or complete the necessary forms during their first visit to the Student Health Center. Health history is not required for admission.
To access the portal, select East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and log in with your ESU credentials. Optional health history and consent forms can be completed using the Forms tab.
- Complete Housing Application or Housing Release Application (to Commute)
-
You’ll receive an email with instructions on how to complete your housing application. It’s important to follow the steps provided in that email to secure your on-campus housing.
First-year students who live within a 45-mile radius of campus, along with certain transfer and non-traditional students, may be eligible to commute to ESU. To request approval, students must complete and submit the Residential Life and Housing Release Application for consideration.
If you have questions or want to explore more about living at ESU, including residence hall options, amenities, and important deadlines, be sure to visit the Residential Life & Housing website.
- Send in Final Official Transcript
-
To finalize your enrollment and secure financial aid, all final official transcripts must be submitted to ESU.
- High School Transcripts: Contact your high school guidance office and request that your final official transcript be sent to admission@esu.edu.
- Dual Enrollment or College Courses in High School: Contact the college or university where you took the course(s) and request that your official transcript be sent to admission@esu.edu.
- Transfer Students:
- If you’ve earned more than a minimum of 12 college credits, a final high school transcript is not required.
- Applicants with fewer than 12 college credits attempted at the time of application will be evaluated using a combination of their official college transcripts, and their high school record.
- Take ALEKS Placement Exam
-
All incoming students are required to complete the ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL) Assessment to determine readiness for math courses. This online assessment takes about 60–90 minutes and helps identify strengths and areas for improvement.
After the initial assessment, students can use personalized learning modules and retake the test to improve their placement. Results help advisors guide students into the right math courses.
- Submit SAT/ACT/AP Scores
-
SAT Scores: Sign in to your College Board account, go to “Send Scores,” and select East Stroudsburg University (ESU) to have your official SAT scores sent directly.
ACT Scores: Visit your ACT account, go to “Send Your Scores,” and select East Stroudsburg University (ESU) to have your official ACT scores sent directly.
Advanced Placement (AP) Exams: Send your official AP score reports directly to registrar@esu.edu.

For detailed information about loan options, repayment, and eligibility, please visit the Financial Aid Office website.
- Buy Parking Permit (if necessary)
-
All vehicles parked on ESU’s campus must display a valid parking permit. Vehicles without a permit may be ticketed, booted, or towed.
Permits are only valid for vehicles that are legally registered with the University by the student, faculty, or staff member.
To learn more about parking permits, refer to the University Police website.
- Sign Master Promissory Note
