Employed by Residential and Dining Services, Residential Learning Coordinators (RLC), Graduate Learning Coordinators (GLC), Residents Advisors (RA), and Desk Receptionists (DR) provides service to residents who lives within our communities.

Residential Learning Coordinator

The Residential Learning Coordinator (RLC) is a full time, masters level professional that oversees the day to day operation of the residence hall community.

The RLC serves as the immediate advocate for residential students, serving as the liaison for the Residence Life, Housing Administration, University Facilities, Student Conduct and Community Standards, and University Police departments on campus.

The RLC is responsible for the development and implementation of a residential curriculum that drives the living and learning experience.

Working directly with faculty and staff across campus, the RLC empowers student leaders to effectively build relationships, to create thriving communities, and to ensure a healthy and safe residence hall environment.

Supervised by Residential Learning Coordinators, GLCs provide additional oversight to the student leaders within residential community.

Through the supervision of student staff, advising of community boards, addressing behavioral concerns, and the administration of residential curriculum within the residence halls, GLCs play major roles in the growth and development of community within residential spaces.

GLCs are required to work no more than 20 hours per week. Depending on their assignment, GLCs may provide oversight to our smaller halls, while others assist in the supervision of our suites and apartments.

Compensation for GLCs include a tuition waiver for ESU approved coursework, a stipend and an on-campus apartment for their remuneration.

As model community members, Resident Advisors directly engage students on their floors/halls/wings in the areas of mentorship, student development, advising, behavior, and academic achievement.

RAs participate in a duty rotation, ensuring that residents have immediate access to hall personnel to address emergent matters.

RAs also promote academic and co-curricular programming and act as a general resource for students at ESU.

Resident Advisors work 20 hours per week, are wage employees, and receive free housing as a part of their compensation package.
