Message: Being assigned Dr. Boyer as my advisor was the single greatest stroke of luck in my academic journey. The dedication and joy he brings to his position fosters equivalent qualities in everyone around him. As a professor, he is patient, innovative, and wholly devoted to facilitating the success of his students. It is directly due to his efforts that I have not only found my excitement for science but also the confidence to seize every opportunity with which I am presented.

Being away from my family when I lost my Poppy was so hard, but you didn't give up on me you always checked in to make sure I was okay and I needed that more than you will ever know and for that I am so thankful. Even if it did a disciplinary meeting to get it out of me you didn't let that stop you from realizing I needed someone.

Not only did I love your class but you being able to see me as more than just your student was everything. I have never enjoyed a class or a professor so much, you kept me going when I wanted to give up on teaching, you are one of the many reasons I stuck through these last four years.
