Award for Competitive Excellence (ACE Scholarship)

Purpose

Apply to ESU The purpose of The Award for Competitive Excellence (ACE Award) is to recognize and reward qualified out-of-state freshmen, transfer and current ESU students for their high school and college performance.

Eligibility

To be eligible for The ACE Award a student must be offered admission to ESU and qualify as an out-of-state undergraduate student for tuition purposes.

Entering freshmen who have completed a college preparatory program of study ranked in the top 15% of their graduating class or present a cumulative high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or above on a 4.00 scale. Students must also have a minimum combined SAT1 score of 1220 (Math and Critical Reading) or a minimum ACT composite score of 25.

College students transferring from a community college, a four year college or a university with a minimum of thirty (30) college credits and a cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 or above on a 4.00 scale will receive the ACE Award.

Students who receive the ACE Award are not also eligible to receive the STEM Scholarship, The Out-of-State Tuition Award or The Students First Tuition Scholarship during the same academic year.

Tuition Rates

The ACE Award, currently valued at $7,716 who enrolled prior to fall 2018.  This award has a four year value of $30,864.

The scholarship is applied in equal parts to the fall and spring semesters ($3,858 per semester in the 2018-2019 academic year).

In the 2018-2019 academic year, that represents a savings of $7,716.

The ACE Award involves no cash transactions. The value of the award will be adjusted whenever the Pennsylvania resident tuition is changed. Micro-scholarships earned from ESU on raise.me are included in these awards.


Scholarship Renewal Requirements

The ACE Award is renewable for the duration of a student’s undergraduate study without regard to the selected college major, provided they maintain non-Pennsylvania resident undergraduate status, successfully complete 30 college credits in each proceeding academic year and maintain a cumulative ESU GPA of 3.00 or above.
