The economics professors at ESU took a genuine interest in my success inside and outside the classroom. With small class sizes, no one is just a number within the economics department. The classes were challenging, and the professors always gave real-world applications to every subject so we could better understand how our class learning relates to the world around us. The professors did an outstanding job driving class discussions on real-world issues, so I never got lost in economic theory. Even during the pandemic, the economics professors adapted to provide me with the best learning experience possible. I cannot thank my economics professors enough for giving me the opportunity to succeed.

“The ESU program I was exposed to (Business + Economics) has been effective at preparing me for the technical aspects of the daily work I do. As an Accountant I am tasked with financial analysis - where economics has enhanced my understanding of supply, demand, seasonality, and overall mathematics and excel foundation. I am enrolled at Drexel for my MBA and the economics courses were very easy due to my experience at ESU. Although my current role does not heavily use economics, the knowledge of economics better positions me for a role in management after completing my MBA.”

“ESU's economics department is more than just the typical college department that most students interact with. When you become an Economics student, you become part of the department family. The professors are not just professors, they are mentors that get to know each and every student and always go out of their way to make sure you are excelling. The students in the economics department are also second to none, often you can find students working together to understand the concepts in class or finding an upperclassman tutoring a lowerclassman in the department office. The economics club provides a great way for students to interact and take part in great activities like trips to Wall Street or the Federal Reserve, to take the concepts from class and see them in real life giving you a firsthand view on possible career paths. Overall the economics department is a great option for any student to make their home at ESU!”

On several occasions my professors extended office hours to prepare students for final exams by providing additional support on test material. Additionally, the Economics Department provided structured and challenging classes in preparation to jobs after graduating college. There was a good variety of classes, between international finance, and intermediate macroeconomics, it gave a good basis to develop skills…”

“I consider working with the economics department one of my greatest experiences while attending East Stroudsburg University. The faculty as a whole is extremely knowledgeable in a multitude of topics, extending far beyond the economic realm. While the material in any given economics course may appear daunting, the faculty is able to articulate complex material with both tact and ease. Their true talent, however, is their unique ability to accommodate the needs of each student. Whether they’re arranging an independent study for a course not currently offered or taking the time to proctor a makeup exam, they’ll always do their best to assist their students. I’ve always felt that I was being extremely well-prepared for future studies as an undergraduate and that feeling is now evident that I’m pursuing an advanced degree in economics.
