The Spanish B.S. major brings all the experiences and proficiencies of the Spanish B.A. major, and adds the coursework and field experience leading to PA state teaching certification in Spanish.

ESU’s teacher prep program in Spanish has received the highest rating possible, National Recognition, from the CAEP accreditation organization.

Students pursuing this major advance simultaneously through Spanish coursework and the curriculum of the Department of Professional and Secondary Education (PSED). As teacher candidates, they emerge from the final semester of student teaching with solid skills in both Spanish and pedagogy, allowing them to compete for teaching jobs in K-12 schools. Many states recognize this license, thereby allowing graduates to consider work both inside and beyond Pennsylvania.
