Study Abroad
The great majority of ESU language majors and minors opt to spend a month, a semester or a full academic year in another country.
Overseas travel and study provide a student with unparalleled insight into the language and culture under study, and also shed new light on his or her own ambitions, sense of self and professional possibilities. Study abroad is normally a transformative experience on many levels.
ESU is fortunate to have a professionally staffed Office of International Programs, located in Stroud Hall, 103.
There any student can receive guidance with respect to choosing a destination, academic integration of overseas credits, financial planning and issues of acculturation.
The university is a fully-privileged member of the National Student Exchange and the International Student Exchange Program.
These memberships ensure that ESU students receive the widest possible selection of destinations at the lowest possible cost.
The staff of the OIP work closely with academic advisers within the Modern Languages Department to help each student develop a plan of study that fits best with his or her situation and timeframe.
