In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the University has implemented flexible work arrangements or telecommuting opportunities to regular full-time faculty and staff. Flexible work arrangements or telecommuting program provided to East Stroudsburg University’s (ESU) regular full-time faculty and staff are intended to maintain a high level of service to the campus community and visitors while also recognizing the growing personal and professional demands placed on personnel. ESU is committed to student and university success and as such, request that any agreements to flexible work/telecommuting be aligned with meeting the operational needs and requirements of the campus.
Faculty or staff who wish to seek a flexible work arrangement because of high risk for severe illness from COVID-19 as defined by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance will need to submit the request, along with any relevant medical and/or other documentation, to Human Resources. Requests will be validated by HR and then evaluated through a process that is currently being developed through the Office of the President.
The University reserves the right to revoke approval of a flexible work arrangement and require the employee to revert to normal work hours/locations or to pursue available leave options.
Types of available leave include the following:
- Paid and unpaid leaves of absence
- Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Leave under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Leave available under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)
