Printing Services

Color Printing for Students, Student organizations and the entire ESU community

You don’t need a cost code to print here-any member of the ESU community can get printing done here and can pay in cash or by credit card. We usually work from digital files (PDFs or JPGs work best) but we can also do copies “off the glass.” The Graphics Center is full-service; the complexity of our production level printer and the number of sizes and kinds of paper and media we offer are not possible in a self-service lab.

Note: the larger the gsm number the heavier/thicker the paper. Please note that there is no borderless printing. Every size of paper will have a white margin at the edges; if you need anything printed up to the edge, you have to cut off the white edges.

We have software that can repeat labels on the page-you can give us one label of the size listed below, and we can duplicate it to take advantage of the number of labels that fit on the sheet.

Full Sheet (one 8.5 x 11 label; can but cut to any size) available in both opaque and transparent

Lamination

All lamination sizes are pouches sized larger than the paper sizes listed below so that there is a clear edge surrounding the item laminated. Odd sized items priced by the size they can fit into.

For example: if you have 6 odd shaped pieces but they fit into an 8.5 x 11 pouch you get charged for that one 8.5 x 11 pouch.

$.25 per cut

Our “guillotine” cutter can cut approximately 50-350 sheets of paper per cut. However, we can’t use this cutter with less than 50 sheets of paper. Smaller quantities may need to be cut out by hand, one by one. The “Per cut” cost is each cut we make. So, for example, if you have one copy of a poster, and need for the 4 white edges to be cut off, that would be 4 cuts, or $1.00 for cutting. The same poster, in a quantity of two would cost $2 for cutting, but again the same poster in a quantity of 150 would only cost $1.00 in cutting! Long story short-you might want to use our self-service rolling cutter for free rather than pay us to do it for small quantities.

This fee only applies to some double-sided prints, and those only when the back and front need to align very precisely. Very precise alignments necessitate extra copies and adjustments that take both time, materials and meter fees that we need to account for.

$3-$15 according to how much extra time is needed

If you provide a .jpg or .pdf file which is ready to print, there will be no special handling or set up fee. If your files cannot be printed as is, you can either make any necessary changes yourself and then bring back a print-ready file, or choose to pay a special handling/set up fee for us to make the adjustments. Please note it is not always possible for the Graphics Center to make your files print-ready. For example, we cannot open a Publisher file, or we simply might have too heavy a work load to take on the work your file requires.

On printing per sheet, there is a discount if you get 25-49, and a larger discount if you get 50 or more.

$.05 Discount per side of paper that we print.

Single-sided sheets are $.05 per sheet less, double-sided sheets are $.10 per sheet less. See pricing per sheet, then subtract for black and white sides. Note: literally one dot in color will cause us to get a “color” meter charge for that side of the sheet–there needs to be zero color on the page to get this discount.
