How does it work? Here’s an overview of the process if you have the Graphic Center design for you.
- Make a Request and a Quote
Where to Start
Let us know what you need, when you need it. Drop in and talk to us, email the supervisor or use our online web form. Depending on your request and our workload at that time, we will give you a price quote and turn around ti
We will give you a price quote for our design services as soon as we understand what you want. (see “Where to Start” above.) That way, if it doesn’t fit into your budget, you can decide not to proceed. Unless you change what you asked for, we will keep to our original price quote.
Turn Around Time
“Turn Around Time” refers to the time between when we get your job until we give you a proof to review. Jobs are accepted on a first come first serve basis, so turn-around times will vary.
- Proofs & Approvals
You will be notified by email when your first proof is available. In fact, if at all possible, we like to email a pdf of the design as an attachment to the email. For posters, brochures, postcards and other materials that will be printed, we also produce a printed proof. Please feel free to take the proof to review at your leisure, show to others who may be involved with your project etc.
If there are revisions, you will get a second proof. Generally proofs for revisions have a much shorter turn around time than for the first proof. Minor revisions could even be done the same day.
Wether it’s the first or the third proof, if you are satisfied with the design, and you don’t have any revisions, then you give it your approval.
- Production Through Invoice and Archiving
If your job is design only, “production” is just making sure you have the files in the digital format(s) that you need. If we are printing or producing buttons magnets or some other product, this can be initiated after you give your approval. Production time of course depends on the type of item and quantity being produced. Some items like flyers or posters can be produced almost immediately.
SAA funded student organizations and ESU university departments can be invoiced, in some cases payment such as for non-SAA funded student organizations, payment may be needed in advance or when the job is finished. We can accept cash, credit, debit checks and eDollars.
When your job has been fulfilled, we archive the files for a ten-year period. This can save you time and money in the future if you wish to do a new job based on the old one; this is called a “file update.”
Only ESU Student Organizations qualify for this special price package. Includes; flyer or poster design, 65 8.5” x 11” color copies on economy paper, & 2 file proportion adaptations
Design for a single item such as a poster, flyer, eflyer, Postcard etc.
This is for one design, without additional proportion adaptations. Brochures, booklets and complex multi page files do not qualify for this category. If the client wishes us to design with a particular theme, image etc. that must be presented BEFORE design work is begun. If there are AA’s * which exceed the time allotted, additional charges will be incurred.
This is for a job that is actually just an updated version of a design we did previously. We archive all jobs that we design, so you can take advantage of the speed and economy of a file update if you like!
Moderately Complex Design
Design for a moderately complex item, such as a brochure or booklet
More complex jobs are more labor intensive. As a result, the price we quote will be higher than for a simple job.
