The purpose of the Women of Color Initiative is to create a safe space for all women who self-identify as women of color during their academic journey at ESU.

During their time at ESU, they are provided with support, unification and a sense of community while working together to dismantle a variety of barriers that women of color frequently face.

WOCI prioritizes mentorship, academic excellence, self-awareness and student engagement as a basis for our women of color’s growth and development.

Mission

The mission of the Women of Color Initiative is to empower and develop dynamic women of color at East Stroudsburg University through purposeful guidance, leadership skill development, and celebration of unique differences.
