The Office of Sponsored Projects and Research (OSPR) encourages the ESU community to seek funding from outside sources to support a vibrant, creative and research-oriented community.

External is defined as outside of the PASSHE system and may include a government agency, a public or private foundation or a corporation.

All grants are now applied for using the University's new ESU eGRANTS. Register yourself in the portal today.

Resources are available to match ideas to potential funding sources and to assist in the interpretation of sponsor guidelines. ESU's KEMP Library houses the Foundation Center’s searchable database, which allows faculty, staff, and students the ability to search for additional funding opportunities. The OSPR also has access to other search tools.

Have you already found a funding opportunity? Would you like to move forward in submitting a proposal? Please visit Develop Proposal and contact the OSPR right away.

Faculty interested in pursuing external funding are encouraged to contact the OSPR at the earliest stage of project development, specifically prior to contacting public or private funders to ensure that the application is developed in compliance with university and sponsored policies, and that proposals can be developed and submitted in a timely manner. The internal review with OSPR can take a number of days, depending on the complexity of the proposal, and obtaining the necessary approvals can also take anywhere between 7-10 business days.
