The Office of Sponsored Projects and Research (OSPR) encourages the ESU community to seek funding from outside sources to support a vibrant, creative and research-oriented community.
Faculty interested in pursuing external funding are encouraged to contact the OSPR at the earliest stage of project development, specifically prior to contacting public or private funders to ensure that the application is developed in compliance with university and sponsored policies, and that proposals can be developed and submitted in a timely manner.
External funding is defined as money coming from outside of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education and may include a government agency, a public or private foundation or a corporation.

Grants.gov
At the Grants.gov site you can find federal grants. All discretionary grants offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies can be found on Grants.gov and there many great learning resources. Make your free account today!
SPIN
OSPR maintains ESU an institution wide subscription to the grants database and search
engine SPIN. SPIN by InfoEd Global is the World’s Largest Database of Funding Opportunities. It is
designed as a funding data resource for students, post-docs, faculty, academic staff,
and other professionals.
To login find ESU in the righthand dropdown menu of institutions and use your ESU SSO (Single Sign On) credentials.

Funding Interest Form
The Funding Interest Form is provided as a means to articulate your scholarly interests and goals to facilitate a strategic search for external funding to support your work. The OSPR is available to assist you as you search for new funding opportunities to support your scholastic pursuits. Please complete the Funding Interest Form and someone will begin to search for grants for you based on the search criteria and research interests you input on the form.
Candid - formerly The Foundation Center
Candid offers free funding information in libraries, community foundations, and other nonprofit resource centers that provide a core collection of print publications and a variety of supplementary materials and services in areas useful to grantseekers.

The OSPR and the ESU Foundation working together
External funding is critical to furthering existing research endeavors and initiating new avenues of teaching and scholarship. To meet these challenges, the OSPR and the ESU Foundation work together to cross check and expand the possibility of identifying the right funding source for your project.
ESU eGRANTS
All grant proposals are now pre-approved for application to the funder using the University's new ESU eGRANTS. Register yourself in the portal today.
The internal review process at ESU can take a number of days, depending on the complexity of the proposal, and obtaining the necessary approvals can also take anywhere between 7-14 business days. Please be in touch with the OSPR about your project early on to be sure you are prepared for internal review.
Faculty and staff are welcome to meet with the Office of Sponsored Projects and Research (OSPR) to explore interests.
