Grow It Grants enables your larger research and creative scholarly ideas to be robustly supported up to $10,000.

Grow It grants are offered only once each semester. Each Grow It Grant proposal is reviewed to determine its potential to enrich undergraduate and/or graduate students’ experiences at ESU, to have broader impacts, to be feasible, and to support the strategic goals of the university.

FDR Grow It Grants can support:

  • Student worker salary during the fall and/or spring semesters.
  • Summer stipend for faculty and/or summer salary for student workers.
  • Purchase of laboratory equipment and project supplies
  • Travel for data collection

All travel is contingent on university policy based on pandemic considerations. Your proposal’s approval is not a guarantee you will be able to travel. Please check with the university administration.

FDR grant funds will reimburse your travel expenses, but it is the awardees responsibility to pay initially.

After the project, reimbursements for travel must be submitted to the OSPR with all original receipts and a completed Travel Reimbursement Voucher Form.

If research involves the use of human subjects, please visit ESU's Institutional Review Board (IRB) and complete the application BEFORE submitting your grant proposal. For the use of live animals, visit the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) site and fill out the application.
