Presidential Commission on Community Belonging
The purpose of East Stroudsburg University’s Presidential Commission on Community Belonging is to support, guide, and direct the university’s mission and vision.
Students First: Empowering Innovation through Collaboration 2025-2028 identifies four initiatives under Strategy 3: Inclusion and Diversity, which includes:
- Create an accessible and equitable environment to foster success and nurture a sense of belonging.
- Support recruitment, retention, progression, and completion efforts.
- Prepare the institution to meet the needs and demands of an increasingly inclusive student body.
The Presidential Commission on Community Belonging is committed to assisting the university in meeting its three goals focused on fostering a community of belonging: Recruiting and Retaining Diverse Faculty and Staff, Improving Support Systems for Students of Color, and Improving Retention and Graduation Rates. Additionally, this group aims to advance the efforts of the Administraton by providing recommendations on university procedures and policies, reviewing data that directly impacts the experiences of the campus community such as climate surveys, and continuously advocating for all university practices.
