The Nutrition certificate program is designed for undergraduate students who wish to acquire further education and hands-on experience in the field of nutrition.
This will provide undergraduate students the opportunity to explore nutrition as it relates to healthy populations, obesity, disordered eating, and sport performance.
Undergraduate students may add this certificate at any point in their curriculum.
This certificate programs can be taken by students in all majors, including Public Health students.
Objectives of the Nutrition Certificate:
- Students will understand the fundamentals of basic nutrition and food systems.
- Students will understand the role of nutrition in health, well-being, disease prevention, and sport performance.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to research and communicate evidence-based nutrition information.
- Students will understand the importance of integrating nutritional principles into their disciplines across a variety of professions.
This certificate program will allow students to show an area of concentration on their transcript.
We encourage all students to consider this certificate as a way to increase knowledge about this areas of study which may lead to work in a Public Health related area.
