The Medical Technology (B.S.) program, also known as Clinical Laboratory Science, prepares students in fundamental and clinical laboratory sciences for careers in diagnostic laboratories.

The Medical Technologist uses state-of-the-art technology to perform analysis of patient samples (blood and other materials) that are useful in detecting and/or treating diseases.

Graduates of this program have a firm foundation enabling them to pursue graduate study for many advanced or alternative career paths.

What do students learn to do?

ESU's Medical Technology students will learn to use state-of-the-art technology and laboratory procedures to analyze patient blood samples and other tissues to detect and treat cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and other medical conditions.


Career Opportunities

ESU's Medical Technology program prepares students in fundamental and clinical laboratory sciences for careers in diagnostic laboratories.

Our Medical Technology graduates have excellent job placement opportunities, and they work in physician offices, clinics, hospitals, and diagnostic centers.



Innovative Faculty

ESU Biology courses are taught by 13 full-time faculty members who all have doctoral degrees and years of experience teaching and doing research in biology. Our faculty have diverse interests in Biology and remain active in their disciplines, and they share their enthusiasm and appreciation for biology with our students.
