
Medical Technology (B.S.)
About the Program
The Medical Technology program, also known as Clinical Laboratory Science, prepares students in fundamental and clinical laboratory sciences for careers in diagnostic laboratories.
The medical technologist uses state-of-the-art technology to perform analysis of patient samples (blood and other materials) that are useful in detecting and/or treating diseases.
Graduates of this program have a firm foundation enabling them to pursue graduate study for many advanced or alternative career paths.
The curriculum includes 98 credit hours (three academic years) at ESU followed by a calendar year internship in a hospital clinical program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
