The GE certification process is currently in full swing, and there are a few courses that have been recommended for certification under various GE Standards by the General Education Committee. The originators of these courses have agreed to share them with the campus community in order to provide representative examples.

Candidates for Certification

ENGL 274: Diversity in Literature

This is a new course, and is being considered for certification as a GN Breadth A course in ENGL meeting GE Standards II (Critical Thinking) and III (Communication). It is also applying for certification as a Level II Writing course. It is currently being considered by the UWCC.

ENGL 274 Blue Form and GE Standard forms

PHYS 161: Physics I

This is an existing GE course, and is being considered for certification as a GN Breadth B course in PHYS meeting GE Standards II (Critical Thinking), V (Scientific), and VIII (Quantitative). It is currently being considered by the UWCC.
