Exercise Science students are encouraged to undertake an internship during their time at East Stroudsburg University. These internship experiences provide exceptional opportunity for the student to apply their knowledge in a professional setting.

The internships also provide an opportunity for Exercise Science students to experience the careers that are available to them when they graduate.

Below we provide further information on the internship opportunities available within each degree program offered by the Department of Exercise Science.

BS Exercise Science

The undergraduate internship experience allows the student to apply the skills and knowledge accrued during their formal Exercise Science education in an environment that requires the sustained use of professional practices.

Typical internship sites chosen by Exercise Science undergraduates include:

MS Clinical Exercise Physiology

In addition to the classroom and laboratory studies provided on-campus, students experience applied aspects of cardiac, pulmonary and metabolic rehabilitation through clinical rotations at various area medical centers. These medical centers include:

  • St. Luke's Hospital
  • St. Luke's Health Center
  • Mercy Hospital
  • Warren Hospital
  • Pocono Medical Center
  • Lehigh Valley Hospital
  • Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital

MS Exercise Science

The classroom and laboratory studies provided on-campus are augmented by the students experiencing the applied aspects of Exercise Science through an internship of their choice. Typical internship sites chosen by students on the MS in Exercise Science include:
