Rules for the Warrior Distance Challenge

The Warrior Distance Challenge is a month-long mileage tracking challenge designed to get you moving through the Month of April. Using the honor system, each participant will input their mileage for each week of the challenge using our Warrior Distance Challenge mileage tracker that will be active when the challenge begins. You can count any physical activity mileage gained from walking, running, hiking, or using a wheelchair. Common ways to track is by using your phones health app, wearable devices such as Fitbits, Garmins, Apple Watches, or simply knowing the mileage of routes.

Every participant will set their individual goal to reach a certain number of miles throughout the challenge. Weekly updates about how you are doing towards your goal will be sent to you via email. The top 3 students who complete the most miles throughout the challenge will receive a prize of a Campus Rec & Wellness champion backpack. As individuals hit different MILEstones you will receive a prize. We will be giving a shaker water bottle to each individual who reaches the 50-mile club, and a new sticker for the 100-mile club, 150-mile club, and 200-mile club.

Participants will also have the opportunity to sign up in teams. Signing up in teams will help participants to remain motivated to achieve their personal goals while also working to benefit their team. The individual challenge will stay the same as mentioned above but there also will be a Trophy for the team that averages the greatest number of miles. For example, a team of 10 individuals who have achieved 1,000 miles throughout the challenge will have an average team mileage of 100 miles (1,000 miles / 10 people = 100 average miles).
