Report a Bias IncidentReport an Incident
What is a Bias Incident?
The Bias Response Team seeks to restore its campus community that has been affected by acts of bias related to discrimination, bigotry, harassment, or intimidation. BRT takes immediate action to support the affected individuals and/or groups while providing an educational response that informs the community of the harmful damage caused by bias acts. BRT’s hopes that by providing outreach and educational programs the number of bias incidents will ultimately decrease on campus.
The Bias Response Team does not replace university processes already in place therefore all reports are reviewed and referred to the appropriate office to investigate and/or arbitrate. Disciplinary actions or sanctions are not facilitated by BRT. The work of BRT serves as a compliment to the existing campus processes which allows for a holistic approach to the issue. BRT collaborates with multiple areas to offer educational programs based on data collected from each incident.
