The Department of Special Education and Rehabilitative and Human Services Mission

It is the mission of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitative and Human Services program to provide every student with the best preparation for meeting the needs of a diverse population of individuals and their families.

Description of Program

The Special Education and Rehabilitative and Human Services department at East Stroudsburg University offers an Applied Behavior Analysis program. The Association for Behavior Analysis International has verified the program's courses toward the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® examination. Applicants will need to meet additional requirements before they can be deemed eligible to take the examination. Additional requirements, including required supervised hours, are described on the BACB website.

BCBAs teach others to carry out ethical and effective behavior analytic interventions based on published research and designs that deliver instruction in behavior analysis. BCBAs supervise the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts and others who implement behavior analytic interventions.
