2024 SECA Campaign
Dear ESU Colleagues,
At East Stroudsburg University we have earned a reputation for caring about the communities in which we work and live. We are all Warriors and have the opportunity each year to demonstrate our compassion, spirit and institutional commitment to leadership and service by taking part in the State Employees Combined Appeal (SECA). Through SECA, we can help improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. This year's theme is "Chip in to make a Difference."
SECA is the only statewide charitable campaign conducted throughout the Commonwealth's offices. Employees have the opportunity to donate to approximately 1,000 charities of participating non-profit charities.
The valuable services these charities provide range from preserving our natural resources to providing assistance to the elderly, finding a cure for cancer or providing shelter for a needy family – in Pennsylvania, across the nation or around the world.
These include Monroe County Charities:
4308-0014 American Red Cross
4308-0018 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeastern Pennsylvania
4308-0004 Catholic Social Services Diocese of Scranton
4308-0019 Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania
4308-0002 Minsi Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America
4308-0000 Pocono Mountains United Way
4308-0012 The Salvation Army, Service Extension
Contributions to SECA can also be designated to support local charities; your money can stay right in Monroe County. There are various options for this, one of which is designating your contribution to the Pocono Mountains United Way who awards resources to support many other local charities.
The annual campaign runs from September 1 through October 25. Contributions can be made by payroll deductions via Employee Self- Serve (ESS). One time contributions can also be done through the ESS. Please remember that if you do annual payroll deductions, they must be updated annually in the Employee Self Serve (ESS).
If you have any questions please contact our SECA coordinator, Miguel Barbosa at seca@esu.edu.
Please remember that your participation, on any level, is greatly appreciated. There is no minimum requirement, every dollar helps. Please join me in supporting this very important appeal and lets all be Commonwealth UNITED!
Sincerely,
Kenneth Long
President
