For the past 28 years, ESU’s Theatre Department has offered a study abroad program at Oxford University, England.
In conjunction with Indiana University of Pennsylvania, our department has offered overseas such courses as Myth and Ritual in Theatre, Acting, Introduction to Theatre, Stage and Comic Technique and the Summer Theatre Workshop.
While studying at Oxford, students visit the Globe theatre, home of William Shakespeare’s greatest works, visit Stonehenge and Bath, Windsor Castle and Eaton, Westminster Abbey, Blenheim Palace and attend plays, concerts and lectures.
This international program offers student the opportunity to live in a diverse and exciting city for three weeks.
Starting Fall 2010, ESU Theatre will begin a regular exchange program with the Xie Jin Television and Film Art College in Shanghai, China.
This is one of the top theatre schools in China.
Students from Shanghai will study in residence in the ESU theatre program.
ESU students will have the opportunity to travel to China to study Chinese culture, language and theatre in Shanghai and other points of interest in China.
Preliminary trips will be 2-3 weeks but there are also opportunities for semesters abroad.
