Apply to become an NSF LSAMP Scholar at ESU!!! LSAMP (The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation) is a program funded by NSF (the National Science Foundation) that is designed to increase the number of STEM degrees awarded to students from populations historically underrepresented in STEM.
NSF LSAMP Scholars at ESU receive
- A $750 stipend during their first year in the program.
- A portable $500 laboratory grant that may be used to purchase equipment in support of their work for any ESU research laboratory that they work in.
- A stipend of $4000 to cover a four-week Summer Research Experience after they have successfully completed their first year as an LSAMP Scholar.
Other program benefits include
- A two-week residential Summer Bridge Program (Room and Board included) immediately prior to the start of their first year at ESU.
- Mentoring by both STEM faculty and STEM upperclassmen.
- Funding for membership in professional societies, for travel to attend conferences, and for travel to present research.
- Additional programming throughout their time at ESU.
