We regularly produced dramatic literature from the classical cannon, which is an excellent pedagogical and artistic stretch for our students, and makes a contribution to the culture of our community.
In the past, we produced Shakespeare, Sophocles, Moliere, and Chekhov.
Students are taught about the classics and classic genres, and plays are used to teach many aspects of theatre as part of the review of plays/productions or approaches to them in many theatre courses beginning with Introduction to Theatre.
Classics are also the dominant source material in Theatre History I and Advanced Acting.
