Hazing Prevention and Education

The University recognizes the importance of Hazing Prevention and education for the campus community. All members of the University are encouraged to review the University's Hazing Prevention Policy.

University Provided Education

The University provides educational opportunities to learn about Hazing Prevention. These opportunities are open to the University community. Educational opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • An online, interactive training module available for all students at the University. This training is strongly encouraged for: all Student Club and Student Organization leaders; Student Government Association, members of recognized or established Fraternity and Sorority organizations; all Student Athletes; club sport team members; ROTC members; University Band; Performance Art and Theatre groups.
  • Group educational programming and prevention events, including:
    • Providing information about Hazing prevention and how to report Hazing at Orientation and Warrior Welcome Weekend events;
    • Student Conduct and Community Standards “Ethics Workshop” training and educational sanction;
    • Additional educational programming including “Bystander Intervention” trainings and the “Leadership by Design” program which support student development and emphasize responsible decision-making.
  • Additional training available by request for any faculty and staff serving as an Advisor to club/student organizations, staff members in Campus Life and Inclusive Excellence, Academic Deans and Coaches employed by the University.

The University community is encouraged to engage with educational programming and training opportunities. Requests for training may be directed to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.
