Considering Attending ESU
I have a disability and I am considering attending ESU.
We’re excited that you are considering ESU. The transition from high school to college can be overwhelming. We are here to help. Below you will find information that you will find useful in requesting accommodations.
Transitioning into College
For students with documented disabilities there are some differences in legal rights and responsibilities from high school to college including intent of the law, who is covered, responsibility of identifying and documenting need, responsibility of initiating services and self-advocacy.
Requesting Accommodations
New students may complete the Accommodation Request Form upon admission to East Stroudsburg University. Placement test accommodation requests may be made by either identifying needed accommodations through the Orientation registration process or by contacting the Coordinator of OASIS.
Getting Accommodations in College
In higher education it is the student’s responsibility to identify, request accommodations and provide documentation of their disability. Accommodations may be requested by completing the Accommodation Request Form and submitting documentation either online, mail, email, fax or in person. Accommodations may be requested after the student has been admitted into the university.
