Interested in becoming an Orientation Leader?

Orientation Leaders provide incoming students and family members with an enthusiastic, positive, energetic, and welcoming experience. A smooth transition for new students is essential and Orientation Leaders play a key role in this process.

OLs will lead group activities, group discussions, facilitate connections to campus staff, faculty, and administrators, lead campus tours, answer questions regarding different aspects of student life, and present a positive image of ESU to new students and their families.

What does an Orientation Leader do?
Orientation Leaders are the stars of New Student Orientation! They are responsible for making new students and their families feel welcomed, answering questions, and helping them transition into become an ESU Warrior.
Can I apply as a first-year student?
Yes! As long as you are a full-time, undergraduate student, you can apply to the position. By the time New Student Orientation is here, you’ll have a ton of ESU experience!
What qualifications do I need to meet in order to apply?
Prospective Orientation Leaders are expected to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a semester GPA of 2.5, be a full-time student, and need to be in good academic and judicial standing. You can apply as a first semester student.
Will I be trained for the position?
Yes, All Orientation Leaders, new and returning, will receive training to prepare for orientation. This training covers everything ESU, academics, campus resources, meeting administration and much more.
Can I go on vacation even though this is a Summer job?
Yes, as long vacations do not interfere with training days, orientation prep days, and orientation days.
