Chris Domanski

Originally from Michigan, Chris holds an MFA in Scenography from the Ohio University School of Theatre. He comes to ESU after teaching 13 years at the University of Central Oklahoma. Before Oklahoma, Chris lived in New York City where he worked in Eddie Pierce’s scenic studio on the Broadway production of Wicked and at Santo Loquasto’s studio, working on productions of Movin’ Out and Elephant Man. He was also a recipient of The Tobin Foundation Award for design excellence at the USITT Young Designers Forum and as a result, his work has been presented nationally and internationally.

Chris has designed over 200 productions for theatre, musical theatre, dance, and opera. Some of his recent productions are: Xanadu and Boeing Boeing (Lyric Theatre), Peter Pan, Sound of Music, Kiss Me Kate , and Anything Goes (Summerstock OK), La Cage Aux Folles (Pollard Theatre), Cripple of Innishman and Pirates of Penzance (Cornel University), The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Summer of 42’ (UCO’s Broadway Tonight), Cosi Fan Tutte, Gianni Schicchi, Once on This Island, Sunset Boulevard, The Full Monty, Side Show, Woyzeck, Henry V, Wait Until Dark, and Tartuffe (University of Central Oklahoma).
