Dr. Cavaiuolo has worked in the rehabilitation/human service and special education field for 42 years. He teaches practices of inclusion in school and community life, including employment opportunities. He is the creator and Director of the Career Independent Living and Learning Studies (CILLS) program.

Member of several community boards including the President of Person-to-Person: Valley Citizen Advocacy, providing financial assistance to individuals with disabilities for inclusive activities, Advocate for people with disabilities and their families, Consultant to schools and human service organizations.
