The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) works with qualified PA-based companies and their employees to ensure they have skillsets to compete in a global economy.

The OWD facilitates grants issued by Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) which are funded by the Department of Community and Economic Development.

Grants issued address recruitment, training, and retention. In addition, the OWD manages the Professional Testing Center which allows ESU students, faculty, staff, and the greater community to take exams that offer certification and licensure across multiple industries.

Objectives

  1. Facilitates the administration of WEDnetPA Training Grants
  2. Manages Professional Testing Center
  3. Creates Workforce Development Training Programs in the areas of student employability, organizational, business development, and industry specific skills.
