Teacher Education Council Application

As per PA Act 168, students in an educator preparation program must be formally admitted prior to taking upper-level coursework. At ESU this is referred to as Teacher Education Council (TEC) Approval. This application is a tool to gather all of the items needed in preparation for TEC Approval.

To be eligible for TEC approval, you must:

• have completed a minimum 48 credits
• completion of 6 credits mathematics and 6 credits English (including 1 composition and 1 literature)
• demonstrate current infraction-free background check (clearances)
• reflect upon professional dispositions

Your application will be reviewed and if all requirements have been met, your application will be forwarded to the TEC for approval. If your application is missing any component, your application will be returned to you to revise and resubmit.

Please note: TEC meets, reviews, and approves TEC Applications monthly from September through June. TEC Approval Applications are due on the first Thursday of the month for consideration.
