The Pocono Writing Project is a branch of the National Writing Project. We offer authentic
opportunities for educators to reflect on their own writing practices across all subject
areas. By exploring their own writing, teachers are better equipped to empower students
to see themselves as authors. Our program also aims to provide restorative experiences
for educators, helping them bring their best selves into the classroom.
The Pocono Writing Project offers a variety of teacher resources and opportunities using writing.
As children observe, reflect, record, and share nature's patterns and rhythms, they are participation in a proceeds that promotes scientific and ecological awareness, problem solving and creativity

Our lessons are guidelines on how to begin bringing students out into the natural world around us during class time and how to get students to use their five senses to be more present in the world around them while also diving into specific content. Use the National Writing Project to find out more information on our mission.
