Round 1: 2-Minute Video Pitch Submission

In Round 1, you will create a short, two-minute video introducing yourself and your business idea. This video is your opportunity to explain your concept and demonstrate why your idea is unique.

Your video should include:

  • Your full name
  • Your major and concentration
  • Your class standing

Please answer the following questions in your video pitch

  1. What is the name of your business or business idea?
  2. What is your business or business idea? (features, concepts, services, etc.)
  3. What problem(s) or need(s) are you addressing?
  4. How are you solving that problem or need?
  5. Who are your customers?
  6. How will your business or business idea generate revenue?

Need assistance?

Contact the Entrepreneurial Leadership Center for help with your video production or submission process. As an optional resource, students may choose to record their video submissions in the McGarry Communications Studio on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are also welcome to record their own two-minute video using their own equipment and resources if they prefer.

To reserve a studio slot, email Michael Moreno no later than midnight, Sunday, October 5. Students will have 15 minutes to record their two-minute video and must submit their script as a Microsoft Word document by midnight, Sunday, October 19. Students are expected to have practiced their pitch prior to recording.

Available recording dates are:

  • Thursday, October 23 — 2 to 4 p.m.
  • Friday, October 24 — 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

We’re here to support you throughout Round 1. Remember, this is your first step in the competition; use your video to make a memorable first impression!
