The ESU History Club is open to all ESU students and community members who are interested in history.
The club meets regularly during the academic year to discuss history, plan trips, and play trivia games. The club also sponsors field trips to local and regional historical sites. Recent trips include historic Philadelphia, Gettysburg, and New York City.
Phi Alpha Theta, the international honorary history society, has a local chapter, Eta Tau, on the campus of East Stroudsburg University.
To be eligible, you must be either an undergraduate student with an overall grade point average of at least 3.0, or a graduate student with a grade point average of 3.5 in all course work taken at ESU. Undergraduate students need to have completed at least 60 credit hours; graduate students need to have completed at least 15 credit hours.
In addition, undergraduates must be History majors, working toward a degree in one of the other social sciences or minoring in History. You must have completed a minimum of eighteen semester hours work in history with at least a 3.3 GPA in all history courses taken at ESU. If you are a graduate student, you must have completed twelve hours in history with a 3.5 GPA.
