Check Your Degree Progress
The degree audit outlines all of the program and university requirements for graduation. You can access your degree audit through the Warriors Connect portal. Please review your degree audit periodically to ensure that you are on track to meet all degree requirements by your intent to graduate date.
If you submit an Intent to Graduate application but will need to move your date to complete a requirement, please email the Graduation Services team at graduation@esu.edu to let them know when you will complete all of your requirements.
In order to have your degree conferred for December 2025 change of grades need to be completed by December 13, 2025
Why is credit sometimes disallowed?
- Credit is disallowed for reasons such as: duplicate coursework, exceeding the number of hours allowed for a repeatable course, or Developmental Education courses.
- All degree requirements must be completed prior to the graduation date.
- It can take up to 6-8weeks after the official degree conferral date for the Graduation staff to review and clear all pending graduation candidates.
- Participation in commencement ceremonies does not imply or confirm that a degree has been conferred.
- Questions about meeting departmental requirements should be discussed with your academic advisor or another departmental representative.
- Students wishing to earn dual degrees (both a B.S. and a B.A.) must earn a minimum of 150 credit hours while completing all requirements for multiple majors and the general education competencies.
- Undergraduate students must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.00. Departmental requirements for GPA in your major may be higher.
- Graduate/Doctoral students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00.
What GPA will show on my transcript?
Your semester and your cumulative GPA are printed on your transcript. The semester GPA is calculated only on coursework completed for an individual semester. The cumulative GPA is based on ALL courses you have taken at East Stroudsburg University.
Is a transcript automatically mailed to me when I graduate?No. You must make a request in writing to receive an official transcript, or use the electronic transcript request process.

Will I receive my diploma at the commencement ceremony?
No. All diplomas for students receiving undergraduate, graduate or doctorate degrees are distributed by mail within 6-8 weeks after the commencement ceremony.
Do students receive an additional diploma for a double major?No. Students who complete a double major will be recognized on the student's transcript.
Do majors and minors appear on the diploma?No. The major is listed on the transcript but is not printed on the diploma. The minor is listed on the transcript but is not printed on the diploma.
How long will it be before I receive my diploma?Diplomas will be prepared within 6-8 weeks after the conferral date. Diplomas are mailed to the permanent address on file with the University Registrar at the time of diploma production. You can keep your address up to date by using D2L.
Can I "walk" during the spring commencement even though I have applied to graduate during the summer?
Yes. Students completing degrees in August may participate in spring commencement. Students must apply for graduation prior to the deadline for summer graduation.
Is there a commencement ceremony for students who graduate in August?No, there is no commencement ceremony in August. You may walk in the May ceremony.
Important dates to consider for the upcoming May 2026 undergraduate degree completion.
- May 9: Last day of spring semester
- May 15: Professors are required to submit final grades by 9:00 a.m.
- May 22: (Anticipated) The degree conferral review process begins.
- May 29: The final date to complete all outstanding deficiencies. It is important to ensure that all outstanding deficiencies, including an "I" (incomplete grade), "X", and/or "O" grade, are completed by this deadline.
- May 29: Students transferring credits to complete their degree requirements must submit an official transcript to admission@esu.edu for processing before a degree can be conferred. Transcripts received in the Student Enrollment Center later than this date will not be counted toward the May 2026 graduation. Students should not submit a transcript if their transfer credits have been received, processed, and are displayed in their Degree Works. Students who miss this deadline will not be able to graduate with a May 2026 degree conferral.
- June 8: (Anticipated) Final review of graduation requirements. Students with outstanding deficiencies will be notified.
- July 6: (Anticipated) Begin production and distribution of diplomas. The conferral date on the diploma will be May 9, 2026
If you have not completed the requirements for your degree by the final review date, you will be notified. It is imperative to reapply for graduation at the beginning of the semester in which you plan to graduate.
Confirm Your Information is Correct for your Diploma Mailing
Please make sure your mailing address is correct before the end of final exams. Addresses can be updated on the Warriors Connect portal. Delivery of your diploma or any other important information is dependent upon correct mailing information. Your diploma must be mailed to an appropriate “street” address. Mailing is done through US postal mail. If diploma is being delivered to a PO Box address, please check with your postal service for delivery procedures.
- You have the option of using eShipGlobal Company if you need to have your diploma mailed outside of the continental United States.
If you have any holds on your account, your diploma will Not be released. Holds are posted to the Warriors Connect portal. Questions can be directed to the billing office at (570) 422-2804.
- Please notify the Graduation Services Team at (570) 422-2815 or graduation@esu.edu when this hold has been cleared.
Name Pronunciation Options
We want to honor our graduates, and their families, by pronouncing their name correctly. Please fill out the Name Pronunciation Form to help us say your name correctly.
- Note: All diplomas will display what degree a student has earned (i.e. Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, etc) and honor designation. The students specific major will be on their transcript for verification of degree earned as per State System guidelines.
FERPA Notice for Graduating Students
If you currently have a FERPA restriction on your record or wish to include a restriction on sharing your directory information, please note the following. FERPA restrictions or requests for confidentiality will exclude your directory information from the Commencement Booklet, press release and any Commencement Ceremony (virtual and/or in-person). If you wish to be included, you must remove your FERPA restrictions.

Financial Obligations & Exit Counseling
Students must have all financial obligations to ESU satisfied prior to Commencement. This includes student account balances, parking violations and library fees. If account balances are not paid in full, requests for transcripts will not be granted.
If you are graduating this semester and you have borrowed a federal loan (Stafford, Direct Student, and/or GradPLUS) you must complete loan exit counseling in order to receive your diploma.
