As the sole Religious Studies Ph.D. in ESU, I teach various religion courses, including World Religions, Asian Religions and Cultures, Religious Studies. As a teacher-scholar, I specialize in Comparative Religions, Interreligious Dialogue, Religion, Conflict and Peace, Religion and Justice, and Islamic Studies.

Dr. Schumacher's teaching interests are primarily in the History of Philosophy, Ancient Greek Philosophy, and German Phenomenology. He also has many years of experience teaching courses in Critical Thinking, Ethics, and the Philosophy of Interdisciplinarity.
