The ESU Health Education M.S. program is designed for working professionals with career-relevant courses delivered entirely online.

The M.S. in Health Education is designed for the working professional - The Master of Science (M.S.) in Health Education is designed to enhance an earned related undergraduate degree and/or to expand and advance the knowledge and skills of professionals who are practicing and/or working in settings associated with health education/health promotion.

Because the M.S. in Health Education is geared towards the working health education/health promotion professional, capstone proposals and projects are unique to the student and their current or anticipated professional experiences.

Pre K-12 Educator Tuition (P.E.T.)

The P.E.T. Program was designed to decrease steps required for students to pay for and/or get reimbursed by school districts for continuing professional education requirements.

Approved and participating school districts are billed for the cost of the student’s tuition, leaving only the related fees to be assumed by the student.

Why ESU?

Our students complete capstone projects, instead of a thesis or publishable paper.

To fulfill capstone requirements, our students are identifying program gaps and needs within their communities and worksite setting.

When they graduate, they return to their community and worksite with advanced skills and a completed program/project that fills a need and potentially advances their standing in their profession.

K–12 teachers in the Commonwealth and surrounding states need advanced credits in their discipline or a related discipline to maintain and/or move through tiered teaching licensure.

As one of only three 100% online MS in Health Education programs in the Northeast, our program is ready to serve Health Education teachers as well as teachers in other related disciplines (i.e. Wellness, Physical Education, School Nurse, Family Health Sciences).

What You'll Learn

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, a health educator provides and manages health education programs that help individuals, families, and their communities maximize and maintain healthy lifestyles.

Graduate students in our Health Education M.S. program receive a broad scope of courses that will promote the development of knowledge and skills required of health educators.

The M.S. in Health Education has been developed to prepare students to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) exam and the Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) exam as offered by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).
