Start Your Path to Success

ESU’s public health program prepares students to understand health trends and improve the well-being of communities. Coursework explores epidemiology, health education, policy development, and population health. Students develop skills to analyze health data, identify risk factors and design prevention strategies.

Learned Skills

  • Research and track health trends that affect communities.
  • Inform and educate people about health risks and prevention strategies.
  • Develop policies that support individual and community health initiatives.
  • Analyze data to understand patterns of disease and health outcomes.
  • Design innovative solutions to improve public health systems.

Internships & Training

  • Gain experience through internships in hospitals, health departments and community organizations.
  • Work in public health agencies at the city, county and state levels.
  • Participate in research through faculty-led projects and independent study.
  • Present findings at ESU’s annual Student Research Symposium.
  • Build real-world experience in community education and disease prevention.

Career Opportunities

  • Pursue careers as health educators or community health workers.
  • Work in epidemiology and infectious disease management.
