Recruitment Events, Field Trips, Guest Speakers

SCORE (Sport Careers: Opportunity, Recruitment, and Employment) Symposium

Students are given the opportunity to engage with sport industry experts in a professional setting. Keynote speakers describe their journey and provide advice for entering the industry. A panel discussion allows for questions from the gallery to panelists from various levels of sport. Students also have the opportunity to work on their interpersonal communication skills with a “meet and greet” session following the panel discussion.

Field trips to major sport venues such as Metlife Stadium, Madison Square Garden, and Wells Fargo Center

Sport Management department, collaborating with Sport Management Club (student organization), organized field trips to sporting events. Field trips offered to sport management students were: 1) New York Jets game at Met Life Stadium, 2) New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, 3) Philadelphia Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park, 4) Scranton Wilkes-Barre (SWB) RailRiders game at PNC Field, and 5) Wilkes-Barre Scranton (WBS) Penguins game at Mohegan Sun Arena. Students were given opportunities to tour the sport facility and meet with executive members in addition to game day experience through these field trips.
