The East Stroudsburg University Warrior Color Guard participates in providing the visually artistic aspect to the Warrior Marching Band.
The Color Guard uses a variety of flags, weapons, and other props to help bring the music of the Warrior Marching Band to life.
Being a part of the Warrior Color Guard is about being a member of a family with the same dream, commitment, dedication and pride in supporting our fellow Warriors within the University towards their journey to achievement.
The Color Guard is an organization of diverse students, who participate in a variety of other organizations on campus as well as dedicating their time to their various majors.
The outdoor Color Guard season starts in August with a week of mandatory Band Camp.
Temporary housing is set up for Marching Band, Color Guard and the growing Twirling line in the dorms, for that week.
During the school semester mandatory practices are held Wednesdays & Fridays from 4:15 - 6:30 PM.
Please set up your classes accordingly.
The Color Guard will also practice with the band before any Saturday football games.
Additional practices may be scheduled as needed.
We perform at all of the home football games including selected away games.
This also includes the post season along with other various events such as the Intercollegiate Marching Band Festival held in Allentown, PA and Winds & Friends at the end of the semester.
Twirling Corp
Twirlers perform at all home football games and selected away games as well as other various venues with the Warrior Marching Band.
Twirlers will also be given the choice to both twirl, and spin with the Color Guard at different times during the show.
Additional auditions will be held for fire baton (which is only done during pre-game) at Band Camp in August.
The twirlers practice two times a week with the band from 4:15 - 6:15 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays.
They will also practice with the band on Saturday mornings depending on the football schedule (extra practices may be scheduled as needed).
The ESU Twirling Program provides new students with great social connections, not only with other twirlers but with the Color Guard and the entire band.
Twirling Auditions
Twirlers will be required to perform a 1-2 minute routine showcasing their skills (no costume necessary).
Twirlers may also be asked to perform a series of tricks.
We will work with all twirlers, no matter their skill level, so that each can showcase what they do best.
All auditioning twirlers will be invited to join the squad.
The audition is used to place the candidates in the most appropriate position on the squad.
Auditions will be scheduled throughout the Spring Semester and the Summer.
If you are unable to come to an audition, we will accept a video of your audition routine.
