Women’s Resources and Support Services

The GSC recognizes the unique experiences and challenges that our woman and femme identifying students may go through. The GSC helps to connect students to the appropriate community resources in addition to our on-campus services.

Women’s Advocacy and support is deeply rooted in the foundation of the Gender and Sexuality Center. We are not limiting these resources to exclusively women, but we are acknowledging the historical disenfranchisement and needs for women’s rights and access to resources.

Resources at the GSC include:

  • Baby Pantry
  • Lactation Room
  • Womxn’s Roundtable
  • Ladies Nights and Social Mixers
  • Educational Events

Sexual Harassment and Assault

The GSC supports and advocates for students who experience sexual assault or harassment. We provide a safe community throughout the healing process.

Baby Pantry

This donation-based pantry supports students with children. We accept baby items like clothing, diapers, toys, etc. All food donations will be sent to ESU’s Warrior Food Pantry. If you are in need of baby items, stop by the GSC and ask for the Baby pantry. Students are limited to taking three individually packaged items at a time.

Lactation Rooms On Campus and Changing Stations

There is a lactation room in Kemp Library, on the third floor around the corner from the bathrooms.

Please contact Genise Valcourt for more information on accessible changing stations in any bathroom on campus.

Women’s Round Table

We use womxn with the X to highlight the importance of intersectionality within the our student’s identity development and historical and current Womxn’s Movements.

The Womxn’s Round table is a space for womxn of all identities and backgrounds to meet and share ideas. We host guest speakers and discussions centered around womxn’s leadership and development.

Safe Monroe

Safe Monroe provides support to anyone whose life has been impacted by domestic or sexual violence. They offer different groups for survivors and are always looking for volunteers if you would like to get involved.
