International Students in DMET and Instructional Technology Background Information

STEM field for International Documents: 24-Month OPT STEM Extension

International students who graduate from colleges and universities in the United States are able to apply for a 12-month Optional Practical Training (OPT). International students major in a STEM-Designated Degree Program are able to apply for the 24-month extension while in a valid period of OPT.

The M.Ed. Instructional Technology program here at ESU qualifies as a STEM program with SEVIS, meaning that the international students who study in this program are able to engage in a 36-month of full-time, employment after they graduate.
