Digital Media Technologies is a hands-on program that focuses on the areas of creative media such as graphics and web, photography, digital video and studio television, Esports and interactive media.

Technology is always changing and so are we. Our department features all the advanced technology needed to create the media our students imagine. Our classrooms and computer lab offer both Mac and PC's, to make sure students have access to both of the operating systems. The PC’s have 6 core Xeon Processors, 32 GB or RAM, with dual NVidia Quadro k4200 graphics cards with 4GB. The iMacs are 5K with Retina display, 4.0GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, 32GB SDRAM.

We also have two editing suites, one PC, and one Mac (with brand new Mac Pros with 3.5GHz 6-core processors, 32GB GB memory, Dual AMD FirePro D500 GPUs with 3GB of GDDR5 VRAM each).

Our students learn and edit video on both PC's and Mac's, using Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut, Avid Media Composer, Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and other programs to allow students to create compelling and high quality productions. We have Adobe CC, Autodesk applications, Apple applications all on 82 high quality computers located in our department for DMT student use.

We also have a Pro Tools HDX2 Recording studio, with the Avid C24 Control board, Roland electronic drums, Yamaha Keyboard, PRS guitar, Fender Jazz bass, professional plugins, and everything needed for professional level recording.

In addition, in the summer of 2016 we completed a substantial upgrade to our production equipment. Students now use Panasonic 4K AG-DVX200 video cameras, Sony HD video cameras, LED light kits and lighting equipment, audio recording equipment, photography equipment, including 2 Mamiya DM-Series 22Mp Medium format cameras, a photography portrait studio, a 2 studio full TV station, all available to let your creative dreams become a reality.

We have continued to upgrade our systems across the curriculum by adding drones, GoPro cameras, and other advanced production software and hardware technology. In 2019 we fully upgraded the McGarry Communication Center TV Studio with a fully integrated industry standard 4K TV studio system including: NewTek TriCaster TC1 Deluxe Bundle, NewBlue FX Graphics, Avid NEXIS Pro, Sony HXCFB80 Studio Cameras, Telex Intercom System, Libec Tripods, Prompter People Teleprompter Rigs, and a full UniSet Green Screen Wall & Cyclorama for Studio 2.

All told, these changes allow our students to create exceptionally high-quality TV content. We also have added new sets and props in 2020 to take the entire TV program to a new level, which was greatly enhanced by the creation of Warrior TV, which is our TV channel that can be seen throughout the ESU campus.
