Applicants Seeking Re-admission

If you were previously registered at East Stroudsburg University, and have been away from ESU for two or more regular (fall, winter, spring) academic terms, you are required to submit an online readmit petition application Readmit Petition.

Non-Matriculating (Special) Students

Non-degree students are students permitted to take courses at the university but are not admitted to the university or to any degree program.

  1. ($25 non-refundable fee) (HS students). Designed for high school juniors or seniors who wish to take one or two courses at East Stroudsburg University. All Applicants must submit an approval letter from Parents/Guardian and Guidance Counselor as well as an Official High School Transcript. The top margin of all letters should be marked "DUAL ENROLLED" for easy viewing.

Others who may be considered for non-matriculating status are:

  1. Students enrolled in degree programs at other universities who wish to earn credit to transfer to their home institution.
  2. Applicants who have been denied admission as degree-seeking students and who wish to improve their academic standing.
  3. High school students who wish to enroll for courses while simultaneously attending high school.
  4. Eligible senior citizens (see below).

Senior Citizens

Pennsylvania residents who are at least 60 years of age and retired may enroll as non-matriculating students (see above). Course registration is on "space-available" basis.

Certificate Program Applicants

If you are not currently enrolled in an ESU degree program, you must fill out the certificate program application to be eligible for admission to a certificate program. Before starting the certificate application, please initiate a conversation with the certificate faculty contact person noted below to learn more about the details and admission requirements of the program.

Once you have been approved to apply by the certificate as per the faculty contact below, you may complete the Undergrad Certificate Only application. A $25 non-refundable application fee is required at the time of application submission. You will also be asked to submit an official high school transcript. Once enrolled in a certificate only program, if you choose to begin a degree-seeking program at East Stroudsburg University, you must apply to the University as a degree seeking student.

Crisis Intervention Certificate

External candidates must be interviewed by the Psychology department chairperson or Sociology, Social Work & Criminal Justice department chairperson to determine eligibility for the certificate program.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Certificate

External candidates must be interviewed by a Geography faculty member to determine eligibility for certificate program.

3D Design Certificate

External candidates must be interviewed by the Art + Design department chairperson to determine eligibility for the certificate program. Only high school juniors and seniors will need to submit a letter of recommendation from an art, science, or technology teacher. Again, we encourage you to initiate a conversation with the certificate faculty contact person to learn more about the details of the program before requesting a recommendation or starting any portion of the application.

Current degree seeking ESU students interested in a certificate program should not fill out the certificate application, and should instead work with their academic advisor and above certificate program contacts for more information on how certificates might fit in with your degree path. If it is determined a certificate program is a good fit for your degree path, you can add this certificate by following the instructions on the eWarrior tab in your portal.
