Phi Eta Sigma was found in 1923 at the University of Illinois. The three Greek words appearing in it’s name forms the moto of the organization which is “Knowledge is Power”. Phi Eta Sigma is the nation’s oldest and largest honor society for the first-year college and university students in all disciplines. Phi Eta Sigma chapters are chartered on 378 campuses across the United States.

Mission

The Society's mission is to encourage and reward academic excellence among freshmen in institutions of higher learning.

Phi Eta Sigma at ESU

East Stroudsburg University is exploring the possibility of beginning a Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. For complete information, please go to their website at www.phietasigma.org.

Once inducted, you will receive a certificate and golden key membership.

We will be hosting a meeting in September to discuss the specifics.
