The provisions of the 1988 Amendments to Title II of the Higher Education Act of 1965 requires all U.S. teacher preparation programs to provide certification testing pass rate information to the public. As such, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania provides this information below.
In reviewing this information it is important to understand that while Title II reports pass rates based on a national benchmark, minimum passing scores vary from state to state. In fact, The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) uses a sliding scale based on Grade Point Average (GPA) to set certification testing pass rates. With this in mind, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania reports both Title II pass rates (as required by law) and Pennsylvania Department of Education pass rates that more accurately reflect candidate performance.
