You’ve got questions, and we’ve got answers...
What is ESU for Kids?
ESU for Kids is a fun, educational and interactive program for kids and teens ages 6 to 18. Our certified educators have been teaching courses designed to excite, remediate, and enrich students! Our staff and our students are dynamic, creative, and energetic. With unique courses and a welcoming atmosphere that makes treasured memories, there’s no place like ESU for Kids – now celebrating 26 years!
Do I Need to Attend ESU for Kids With My Child?
ESU for Kids is designed for families to drop off their children and sign them out later each day. Sometimes families of children who are new to our program drop the children off but stay nearby until the children get used to the routine. It’s important to note that students are supervised by our staff at all times for safety and security.
When Does ESU for Kids Take Place?
ESU for Kids offers three special one day events each year – one in March/April, one in April/May, and one in October/November.
The ESU for Kids three-week summer program is always held Mondays through Fridays for the last three weeks of July.
Where Does ESU for Kids Take Place?
Our one day events have been held at various locations on campus: The Fine and Performing Arts Center, Schisler Wildlife Museum, The Science and Technology Center, and Stroud Hall. We have also held events at East Stroudsburg High School South.
The ESU for Kids three-week summer program is housed at Stroud Hall.
How Do Parking, Drop Off and Sign Out Work?
Students may be dropped off 10 minutes prior to the start of a one-day event or the first course they enrolled in our three-week summer program. Students must be signed out and picked up immediately at the end of their one-day event or following their final summer course.
Parking varies depending on the event. When you enroll your child(ren), you’ll receive an email with specific parking details for that particular event.
How Do I Enroll in ESU for Kids?
Register and scroll down and click on ESU for Kids. On the left side of our registration page, you’ll find tabs for all of our current events. Each event will have a downloadable flyer, course descriptions, and buttons to click to register with a credit card or debit card.
How Are Lunches and Bathroom Breaks Organized?
Students are encouraged to bring lunches, snacks, and drinks to every one-day event and to each day of our three-week summer program.
Lunches, snacks and drinks are not provided. Students must bring their own.
ESU for Kids is a tree nut, peanut free program. Please pack accordingly for the safety and well-being of all students.
Generally speaking, students may drink or eat snacks at any time during the day provided they are not working with electronics.
On one-day events, students will have a 25 minute supervised lunch with their instructor.
When it comes to our summer program, students enrolled in BOTH the 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. class and the 12:55 to 1:55 p.m. class will have time to eat a supervised lunch between these two courses.
Organized bathroom breaks take place during and between courses.
What Is Your Student Dismissal Policy?
ESU for Kids staff will treat each student with respect and set clear expectations and boundaries each day. Students are expected to be honest, show respect to their peers and staff, and treat the facilities and equipment with care. Inappropriate language and verbal/physical aggression is strictly prohibited.
Failure to uphold any of these expectations may result in a student's dismissal from the ESU for Kids program without refund.
