Margaret BallMargaret J. Ball, is the Provost, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and serves as the University's Chief Academic Officer.

The Provost provides leadership in fulfilling the University's strategic directions: academic excellence, student learning, service, diversity, expanded resources, and a positive campus climate.

Dr. Ball is committed to ESU’s mission to promote and support a challenging and contemporary undergraduate and graduate curricula that engage and equip students to critically appraise and apply knowledge in their lives and chosen fields of study. Dr. Ball oversees a scholarly community that promotes diversity, views learning as the university's primary focus, and offers opportunities for student and faculty research, creative endeavors, and involvement in public service. ESU is a comprehensive university within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies which include research and creative activity opportunities for both students and faculty. 

Also in support of the division of Academic Affairs and reporting to the Provost is the Office Sponsored Projects and Research.
